    This organization provides programs around Hillsborough County focused on character and leadership, health and wellness, and academic success for students of all ages.

    The Early Learning Coalition provides access to quality early care and education services, such as school readiness and VPK programs, for children across Hillsborough County.

  • ESOL

    English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) is a program offering classes to further understanding of the English language for better opportunities in the workforce.

  • Head Start

    The purpose of this program is to promote school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children through the provision of health, educational, nutritional, social and other services.

    Eligibility Requirements: o Meet the 100 percent threshold for income poverty guidelines. o Work at least 20 hours per week; or enrolled in school/ job training program.

  • HELP Team (Homeless)

    Resource dedicated to assisting students and families who meet eligibility requirements associated with the McKinney Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act to eliminate barriers preventing student success.

  • Dawning Family Services

    Services provided include the locating of safe and secure shelter, housing search programs, prevention and diversion services, rapid re-housing assistance, post-shelter support, and employment support services.

  • R3 ERAP

    The R3 Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) aims to prevent recipients from experiencing further hardships by providing eligible and approved households financial assistance for past-due rent and TECO electric bills.

  • LIHEAP

    Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) assists low-income households, who qualify and are eligible for services, in meeting immediate home energy needs.

  • TECO Payment Assistance Resources

    A complied list of resources available to those who qualify for financial assistance to pay utility bills in the Hillsborough County area.

  • University Area Attainable Housing

    Resource provides a list of attainable housing opportunities in the University area, listing contact information and the rent range for those respective opportunities.

  • Feeding Tampa Bay

    Provides nutritional support to needy families through mobile grocery locations and food pantries where one can receive a free box of groceries as well as a hot meal in other specified locations.

    The Metro Market is located inside the Family Support Center and stocks fresh produce, breads, meats, pantry stables as well as clothing.

    Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides nutritional support for low-income seniors, people with disabilities living on fixed incomes, and other individuals and families with low incomes.

Transportation Services

  • Door to Door Transportation

    Transportation is provided for medical and social service appointments, grocery trips, health and wellness, personal business, etc. Trips are prioritized based on trip purpose and provided on a space-available basis.

  • Emergency Ride Home

    Service offered through the Tampa Bay Area Regional Transit Authority (TBARTA) if you commute using means other than driving alone at least two times a week, you can get reimbursed for up to six (6) free rides home from work or school.

  • HART (Bus Transportation)

    The Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority (HART) is local public transportation that offers reduced fares for qualifying individuals.

    *This service provides reduced student fares when a current school ID is presented to aid in transporting Hillsborough County middle school and high school students to and from school.
